Winter shows us what summer hides. After the leaves have fallen, we are able to see the bare skeletons of trees and the earth below, the quiet shapes of the land and forgotten paths. Without the distractions of summer’s plenty, we are encouraged to slow down and reflect on what has been underneath the surface all along. 

Life, too, has its seasons, and the quieter ones encourage us to do the same, revealing truths–some difficult, some beautiful, and reminding us that change is not only inevitable, it’s also enlightening.
