Located just south of Charleston, Kiawah Island is a quite beach community that has long been a destination for family vacations and golf enthusiast. While better known as a summer time vacation spot, I actually like visiting the beach in the early spring. With less traffic than peak season, it gives me the opportunity to capture images that convey the peaceful tranquility that most of us associate with a visit to the coast.
So, while participating in a conference this past weekend, I jumped at the chance explore the island and its surroundings through my lens. It was not my first visit to the sleepy beach community, but it was my first visit with a camera in my hands. So, I took full advantage of the abundance of wildlife, scenic vistas and relatively low traffic that Kiawah had to offer. Below is a selection of my favorites, I hope you enjoy!
